The annals of Kashmir University are a testimony to the fact that Anhaar- the annual research journal of the department of Kashmiri is the oldest journal of Kashmir University which was established immediately after the inception of the department at the University. The most significant literary personalities and stalwarts in the field of Art and Literature have been on its Advisory and Editorial Boards. The journal emerged as a lighthouse of insight and cognition that in turn helped researchers and critics of the language to benefit from the discussions held about language and literature in the journal. This will not be out of place to mention here that the journal has been publishing regularly for the last 45 years and has contributed to studies in criticism and research. It is the only peer reviewed and refereed journal of the Kashmiri language, literature and has all living legends of contemporary Kashmir and all its ex-heads of the Department of Kashmiri on its Advisory Board
